In 2019, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) launched its mixed reality simulation program. Designed as a learner-focused way to enhance clinical skill development without the risk of doing harm to real clients, the simulation program has been tested and enhanced with usage at over 20 university programs with overwhelmingly positive feedback from learners and educators/trainers.
