“We network, educate, and advocate for the enrichment of our members, the advancement of our profession, and the health of our communities” • WAMFT Mission Statement
The WAMFT Mission statement was adopted in 2004. Since then, WAMFT leadership has been successful in supporting this mission in numerous ways. Through successful engagement of its members, WAMFT has created cutting edge educational events and networking opportunities, supported boots on the ground local advocacy, honored its members who have, with excellence, nurtured and promoted the profession and practice of marriage and family therapy, and has prioritized its students and emerging professionals with training and mentoring opportunities.
One of the key components in our mission statement is “the advancement of our profession.” While providing programs that enrich our members is important, it is critical we also focus on ways to support the profession. A key focus is to invest in our students and emerging professionals. They are our future. Another key objective in advancing the profession is through our legislative work.
Accordingly, WAMFT is prioritizing the following four goals: œ Advocacy œ Education œ Networking œ Leadership Development and Student Scholarship.
