Where: Tsukuba, Japan, Asia

The Asian Academy of Family Therapy (AAFT) 4th Annual Conference, co-organized by AAFT and the Japan Association of Family Therapy will take place in Tsukuba, Japan, from November 1-4, 2017.

The theme of the Conference is “Family Therapy: East and West.” Systemic-based Family Therapy theory and practice originated mainly from the Western culture in the past 40 years. Family therapists in Asian region had worked hard to implement them in their local contexts, in spite of the traditional healing systems that exist within the culture.

The conference will offer presentations from various cultural contexts. Participants are encouraged to take part in discussions and join the dialogue between the East and the West as well as how family therapy theory and practice can be integrated across the cultures.

Looking forward to meeting you in Japan in Autumn 2017!
