AAMFT Summer Institutes for Advanced Clinical Training

Earn Continuing Education

The AAMFT Summer Institutes are approved to provide continuing education for marriage and family therapists and allied professionals by most major mental health organizations, including:

·     American Psychological Association: The AAMFT is approved by APA to offer continuing education for psychologists. The AAMFT maintains responsibility for the program.

·     National Board for Certified Counselors: The AAMFT is recognized by NBCC to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. We adhere to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines. (NBCC#5209)

·     National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors: The AAMFT is approved by the NAADAC Approved Education Provider Program #000160.

Continuing education is accepted by the most state licensing boards and many other regulatory boards and organizations. Please check directly with your state board or organization for continuing education requirements. Click here for the list of state board contacts.

Continuing education hours are verified on a contact hour basis. Attendance at the entire course is required for a continuing education certificate. We will not make any exceptions for late arrivals or early departures, so please plan all travel arrangements accordingly. Supervision course participants will be issued a certificate upon completion of course, and required post-course written assignments. All other participants will receive a certificate upon completion of course.
