In their daily work with families, marriage and family therapists are acutely aware of the changing social trends and pressures affecting families and the impact of larger systems on family functioning and well-being. They also know from their practice that marriage and family therapy makes a positive difference in the lives of many families.

OUR MISSION

• Offering credentialing to a multidisciplinary group of researchers who investigate treatment effectiveness, theory development, pedagogy, supervision, and training;
• Supporting well-designed studies that provide a research-derived basis for best practices;
• Offering opportunities to foundation researchers for collaboration with colleagues, presentation of findings to clinicians and supervisors, and sharing of knowledge with students, clinicians, and new researchers in the field; and
• Providing avenues for dissemination of information to the public.
