In accordance with the COAMFTE policies and procedures, COAMFTE publishes and disseminates aggregate accredited program enrollment and faculty demographics. The tables and figures below are based on self-reported data from 91 marriage and family therapy programs that submitted 2012 demographic data as part of their Annual Report or Self-Study materials. This number excludes those programs who submitted 2012 demographic data where the number of faculty and/or students broken down by gender did not equal the number of faculty and/or students broken down by ethnicity.

About Accreditation

Accreditation is a voluntary process whose major purpose is to ensure quality in higher education. Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) reviews graduate programs in marriage and family therapy at a masters, doctoral and post-degree levels and grants accreditation to programs that meet and/or exceed accreditation standards.
