About

AAMFT's Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) is a specialized accrediting body that accredits master's degree, doctoral degree, and post-graduate degree clinical training programs in marriage and family therapy throughout the United States and Canada. Since 1978, the COAMFTE has been recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) as the national accrediting body for the field of marriage and family therapy.

Call for Comment

The Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) is seeking public comment on the proposed Accreditation Standards Version 12. Anyone with an interest in the quality of Graduate & Post-Graduate Marriage and Family Therapy Training Programs is encouraged to review the document and fill out the Call for Comment form. The deadline to complete the Call for Comment form and submit comments for consideration by COAMFTE Standards Review Committee is July 31, 2013. Site Visitor Resources

The Commission relies heavily on the expertise, integrity, and dedication of its site visit volunteers to carry out on-site program reviews. This training module serves as 1/2 of the complete training program. All individuals wishing to become a site visitor must complete this module and then attend the 3-hour seminar offered by AAMFT at the Annual Conference.
