  • AAMFT Participates in National Conference on Mental Health

    June 3, 2013

Today, I had the distinct pleasure of representing AAMFT in the conversation occurring at the highest levels of our country’s government around increasing awareness and understanding regarding mental health. To witness government officials at every level from the President and Vice-President, to representatives from major mental health agencies, come together to discuss the current state of mental health treatment and its vast importance was a testament to the hard work of each and every one of our AAMFT members.

President Obama stated today, “Not enough Americans seek treatment…we also need to make sure treatment is there.”

As an association dedicated to the care and wellbeing of individuals, families, couples and children, AAMFT and our 26,000 members share that dedication and applaud the focus of our many leaders on this very important issue.

For more updates on AAMFT’s participation at the White House National Conference on Mental Health, visit my Twitter and Facebook accounts and check out the next edition of AAMFT’s Therap-Enews.
