Practice Description
The ASSINIBOINE FAMILY THERAPY INSTITUTE (afti@shaw.ca) offers the following services: marriage intensives, counseling, supervision, education and training, consulting, and qualitative research. MARRIAGE INTENSIVES: two day marriage intensives are offered to couples/partners who want to step out of a hectic lifestyle and avail themselves of a focused two day quest to meet the challenge of problems they face. Emphasis on partnership and collaboration, and on objectifying problems, not the people who have them! COUNSELING: hourly or intensive counseling for person(s) and families struggling with problems ranging from depression to anxiety and panic, abuse issues, violence, sexuality issues, chronic illness/pain, and problems that impair a sense of well-being. Therapeutic letters and videotaping are also offered to enhance change. SUPERVISION: provided to trainees interested in collaborative, post-modern therapies - especially narrative, solution focused, and language systems models. Dr. Rombach is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. EDUCATION AND TRAINING: provided to individuals, agencies & colleges that desire knowledge and skills in collaborative, postmodern therapies: narrative, solution focused, and language systems. Reflecting Teams and Outsider Witness Groups emphasized as well. CONSULTING: to individuals & agencies regarding challenging problems that may require additional resources. RESEARCH: qualitative research regarding issues & problems that require diligent and analytical study.
  
 
Approved Supervisor
This AAMFT Clinical Member is also an Approved Supervisor. The Approved Supervisor designation identifies those professionals who have met the educational, experiential, and supervisory training requirements to supervise marriage and family therapists, for AAMFT Clinical Membership. Please check with your state and/or provincial licensing board to verify if this AAMFT Approved Supervisor is an acceptable supervisor for your licensing requirements.

Office Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday 10 am - 3pm Saturdays These hours are modified when intensives are scheduled. Intensives: 10am - Noon & 2pm - 4pm Saturday with optional 6pm-8pm Saturday Eve 10am - Noon Sunday Other Scheduling Options: available upon request and availability
