MFTs in Medicare

The ability to provide services to this vastly underserved community is a privilege and one MFTs are uniquely qualified for with their family and systems training. Enroll today to be a Medicare provider.

Advantages of Enrolling as a Medicare Provider

  • The ability to provide services to the many Medicare beneficiaries in your community 69 million potential clients nationwide.
  • The ability to continue treating your existing clients after they age into Medicare. This continuity of care is essential for older Americans experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Enrolling as a Medicare provider does not obligate you to accept all Medicare clients or a set number of Medicare clients. You can enroll without changing your business substantially – some practitioners may have only one Medicare client on their caseload at any given time.
  • Enrolling as a Medicare provider helps ease the dire shortage of Medicare mental health providers, especially in rural, low-income, and underserved communities.
  • Almost any willing MFT can enroll as a Medicare Part B fee for service provider. Medicare Advantage plans are also looking for Medicare-eligible providers to join their networks.
  • Enrolling as a Medicare provider will help you avoid future billing surprises. All MFTs must either enroll or opt-out of the Medicare program. Enrolling now helps ensure you won’t face consequences for unintentionally seeing a Medicare client.
